REK-O-KUT De-Hisser

Three Noise Reduction Systems in One!

This unit is for modern stereo Lp records, vintage 78s' and tape recordings.

The Rek-O-Kut De-Hisser is actually three products in one: a background hiss reducer, a left/right groove wall selector for mono records, and a low frequency noise filter (rumble filter).

GROOVE WALL SELECTOR switch permits you to select the least noisy groove wall of a mono record. In addition, The Rek-O-Kut De-Hisser features a unique circuit which cancels out rumble and similar noises that are common to both groove walls. Other switching circuits (left only or right only) permit low frequency noises (rumble) to be heard unimpeded. Our added circuitry removes the rumble and not the bass.

HISS REMOVAL is accomplished not by a commonly used, variable hi-cut circuit, but by selecting band passes within the high frequency spectrum that accommodate the program material. This results in almost no audible pumping of hiss with program material and excellent performance even with spoken word. In addition, there are no digital artifacts as associated with computer software noise reduction schemes. 10 dB of hiss reduction is available for both vintage records and modern, stereo LPs.

THE LO-CUT switch can select two amounts of low frequency noise attenuation. The 40 Hz position will suffice for many noise plagued LP records and 78s, while the 80 Hz position may prove useful with old acoustic records, records with hum, or records requiring severe bass boost.

Removes the noise, not the music!

REK-O-KUT Low Noise Phono Switch
The Rek-O-Kut Low Noise Phono Switch is a precision, two-way switch utilizing
RCA connectors especially suited to phono applications. Because most other
switches are really designed for high-level, or "Aux" levels, they introduce
hum and other noises when used with the extremely low levels produced by
phonograph pickup cartridges.
The Rek-O-Kut Low Noise Phono Switch can be used to switch either of two
phono turntables to the input of a hifi amplifier. It can also be used to
add two Aux inputs to an amplifier that has only one such input. It can be
used where ever one input needs to be expanded to two or visa-versa.

MCM Stereo Phono Pre-Amplifier/Input Control

(Front view on top and rear view on bottom) (5 3/4" wide, 1 1/2" high, 3" deep)

High Quality Stereo Pre-Amplifier allows a high quality turntable, equipped with a magnetic cartridge, to be connected to newer home theater equipment and receivers that lacks phono inputs. A selectable line level input allows this unit to add the magnetic turntable, without reducing the number of available inputs. It may also be connected to the input of a PC soundcard, offering the ability to transfer vinyl records or audio cassette tapes onto a PC hard disk or CD-R.

The metal housing provides secure shielding against external interference that could otherwise distort the delicate phono signals. Gold plated RCA connectors ensure optimum signal transfer between connected components.

Accepts line level AUX and PHONO input. High gain, low loss, design. Features gold plated RCA in/out connections. Includes turntable ground connection.

ESOTERIC SOUND PROFESSIONAL STEREO MOVING MAGNET PREAMP

VIRTUALLY ALL LOW-COST SIMILAR PREAMPS HAVE INCREDIBLY INACCURATE FREQUENCY RESPONSE.

Add a turntable to an amplifier that has no phono input or a second turntable to an amplifier with only one phono input. The Esoteric Sound Professional Moving Magnet Preamp can be used to connect any AUX input to phono use. It is designed for both home as well as broadcast and studio applications.

The Moving Magnet Preamp will make it possible to use a line level input on any amplifier or mixing console for playback with a turntable that is equipped with a conventional, moving magnet phono cartridge. Typical input sensitivities of such inputs are roughly 200mVolts, and the outputs of typical moving magnet cartridges is about 3 mVolts. The preamp boosts the level of the magnetic cartridge and also applies "record compensation" in the form of the RIAA curve. This adjusts the relative levels of bass and treble to match that of modern records.

Minimum Performance Specifications:
RIAA Deviation: +/- 0.5dB
THD: 0.05%
Signal/Noise: Better than 70 dBA
Sensitivity: 3.4mV
Input Impedance: 47kOhms, and 220 pF

SURFACE NOISE REDUCER by ESOTERIC SOUND

Modern stereo preamplifiers use RIAA equalization to play back standard phonograph records. Playback of most of vintage records on modern, even expensive

amplifiers, is effectively using a 2 KHz lo-cut filter with either excessive or insufficient bass boost. Many, if not most CD reissues of 78's and old radio shows, along

with many of the tapes of old recordings in the files of m any collectors, were made with modern RIAA preamps. The Re-Equalizer will accurately compensate your

RIAA equalized preamplifier. For audiophiles, collectors or professionals.

RE-EQUALIZER FEATURES

* Supplied with eleven page manual including recommended compensation settings for any vintage
record - including acoustics. This is the most extensively researched chart ever produced.
* In "BYPASS" mode, signal is hard-wired input to output - no compromise to any audiophile unit
* Passive equalization design & film capacitors assure low TIM and transparent sound.
* High input impedance for use with both tube or solid-state amplifier outputs.
* Accurate record compensation from any source using your preamp.
* Connects to hifi systems like any ordinary graphic equalizer.
* Works with phono, tape recorder outputs - any source.
* 8 settings of Turnover and 8 settings of Rolloff.
* Gold-plated RCA connectors.

Pre-1955 records were recorded to different standard than now employed in RIAA equalized phono amplifiers. The Re-Equalizer compensates for this. Easily installed thru the external tape monitor circuit or your preamplifier/receiver or via the SuperConnector.

* Accurate reproduction from any source is accomplished by producing an accurate equalization
difference curve to compensate the output of your RIAA phono preamp.

* In "BYPASS" mode, signal is hard-wired input to output - introduces absolutely no noise or
  distortion to any audiophile unit.

* In “IN” mode, left and right are combined to mono, and phone compensation introduced

* Supplied with six pages of recommended compensation settings to accommodate any vintage
record - including acoustics. This is the most highly researched chart ever produced.

* Passive equalization design & film capacitors assure low TIM and transparent sound.

* High input impedance for use with either tube or solid-state amplifier outputs.

* Connects to hifi systems like any ordinary graphic equalizer.

* Works with phono, tape recorder outputs - any source.
* Sixty-Four different record compensations
