The REK-O-KUT Professional Moving Magnet Preamp will make it possible to use a line level input on any amplifier or mixing console for playback with a turntable that is equipped with a conventional, moving magnet phono cartridge. Typical input sensitivities of such inputs are roughly 250 mVolts, and the outputs of typical moving magnet cartridges is about 3.5 mVolts. The preamp boosts the level of the magnetic cartridge and also applies "record compensation" in the form of the RIAA curve. This adjusts the relative levels of bass and treble to match that of modern records. Used with the Esoteric Sound Re-Equalizer, it makes a fully adjustable playback system for vintage and mono records
